About Me.

My name is Jess reid
Dance Teacher at KSPA

Jessica began her training as a child, exploring all fields of dance. Including ballet, modern, freestyle disco and pairs latin and ballroom dance. She really found her passion for teaching when asked to take a leadership course in her teenage years and from then on Jess wanted to focus on inspiring the younger generation to perform in any and all styles of dance.

Jessica graduated from the Dance Education Programme (BA, Hons) at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2012, gaining a First Class Honours degree. In her final year as a dance student, Jessica became a member of the University Dance Company, for whom she taught workshops for training dance teachers and with whom she travelled around Kent delivering dance tuition for children of primary and secondary age.

Upon finishing her degree Jessica spent some time in New York teaching dance and gymnastics at American summer camps, where she devised and assisted in a full summer production. Collaborating with other teachers across the arts to create a fantastic fun filled show for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

Jessica is a well-established Dance Practitioner and was the choreographer and assistant head coach at the Saxon Stars Cheerleading Squad for 5 years. Within this role she gained her qualifications with the UK Cheerleading Association in stunting and tumbling.  With her wealth of knowledge and choreography the team gained three consecutive places to represent the United Kingdom in 2011, 2012 and 2013 at European level. She then went on to work with UKCA delivering workshops to teams across Kent to further develop their skills in Pom Dance and Stunting.

In 2016 she completed her Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) Modern Teaching qualification with the Anna Morgan teacher training college, gaining 90% in her final exam.

Currently, Jess is teaching here at KSPA and Hasland Dance Studios. Where is she responsible for the early years tuition baby classes and the lower grades of Modern Theatre. She also teaches Acrobatic Arts at HDS and in 2019 gained her Acrotrix teaching qualification to deliver Acro classes for ages 4-18.
